shhhhh - time for some new stories

With almost 5,000 hits and a loyal following consisting of fellow travellers, uber-bored office ebayers and my grandma (no URL for her, sorry), this website gets some decent google rankings, even on subjects I know little about.

As a 'writer',(coined my own WORD there, according to google) or whatever I am, I suddenly feel compelled to scribe more significant posts, especially if so many people I don't know will be reading them.

Therefore, I'm open to new topics. rants. Leave me a comment on this post, and I'll write on any topic / question / subject / freakish item you want. Yup, it's that easy- it's kind of like a participatory democracy, only with a short, hairy autocrat weilding a computer at the head.

Weblog Housekeeping

A little update on the despotic reign I exercize over my weblog-

I have freed the archives, so that you may see them. Also, click on categories (for instance Travel Plans) to find out information on a single subject. Lastly, you can now post anonymous comments, just for fun.

Also, check out the total redesign. When I return to BsAs next week, I will include lots of pics I´ve left out for your enjoyment.

So much to write about, so little time with the internets!

STRANGE search returns for this blog

Sorry to nerd out, but check THIS out. This blog gets rated by google in some STRANGE ways. 2,128 hits as of today, only 1,700 of them from me, hooray!

The internets have defeated me again

WHERE ARE MY PICS, you ask? I´m really really angry right now. They´re basically stuck in my camera.

I have two 512mb memory sticks FULL of pictures and video, but I can´t upload or burn any of them. Unfortunately, all the internet cafes (and there are plenty here) have only some pieces to the picture movement puzzle.

The place i´m at right now, "Net Park" in San Telmo, has some great local ska / reggae band´s CD playing, which is lovely. What it doesn´t have, is Windows XP, and they have their Windows 2000 PCs set to delete all new files on reboot. That means I can´t install my camera driver, thanks.

The other places, some don´t have USB at all, some have IE locked down so tight you can´t get any of the uploader apps to plugin, etc. There´s at least one minor problem stopping the process at each place I try. It´s maddeningly frustrating. So, later today, I´ll be walking around San Telmo´s internet cafes looking for a place to at least burn these pics off my memory cards so I can continue shooting.

Oh, and an SD card reader? YEAH RIGHT! hrmpf.

I can say with a certain degree of certainty that posts will be voluminous and fast-updated for at least the next two months.
