Looking for an accurate aerial map of Isla Del Sol? I was... months ago.
Now, I have finally got it, cheerfully stolen from Google Earth. Though it may be too late for me, I still like to just LOOK at it, in all its accurate splendor. For, you see, all maps about Isla del Sol that people on Isla del Sol use, are grossly innacurate. i believe they were all originally done in crayon by righties with their left hands. This led to hours of enjoyable, yet somewhat unnecessary, hiking up mountains.
The best map we could find was in the lonely planet, which is really saying something considering how many times they had maps that were "off the charts" bad about Bolivia.
Also, Google Earth (love this program, thanks to Nick for letting me bogart his PC) informs me that we officially hiked 700 feet in something like two hours. Is that even possible? Guess so.
The highest peak we climbed, Cerro Puscallani, is 13,250 feet high. Sea level is 12550 at Lake Titicaca. I think planes fly between 20 and 30 thousand feet. Apparently, I feel I can walk that.
