My travel plans do not currently include Chile. My Casio camera broke because of remarkably poor workmanship on their part. I bet every camera they put out will break thusly. The only Casio service center between where I am now and Columbia, is in Chile. Everyone in Chile speaks unbelievably fast, and has a penchant for putting you on hold for 20 minutes before giving you another phone number to call. If I send my camera, I may have to wait weeks to get it back. If I go there, I will definitely kill at least one week on this camera repair, at a minimum. Either option puts me out close to US$200, either in travel costs or mail and customs.
Therefore, I am going to consider buying a new camera. If I am able to find a working digital camera that eats SD cards, for a reasonable price, I will purchase it this week. Enough of the waiting, I feel like I'm wasting part of my trip thanks to Casio. DOWN with Casio.
